My Name: Shyan (She-ann), or Cyanne.
Activity: Up for now.
What I can do: S-Spriting! Also Game Designing and Programming!

Spriting:
I've been spriting since I was very little and I've come a really long way since. I use MS Paint for all my spriting needs, and have always given top effort in all my creations! Once I had improved my skill, I began to study animation and have become quite efficient as well.

Game Designing/Programming:
When I was first intoduced to GM 5.3 in Middle School, I began to put all my ideas I've kept hidden into actual games! Since my first games, Greycol and Mario Extreme, I have greater general knowledge of GML. I am the lead designer and programmer of Bealupia (still being worked on), and SSBImitation.

::::

Examples of work:
Well, the guide told me I had to put only my best work on display so I had to knit'n'pick which were the best example of my works.

Yoshi 2/3D Sprite
Posted Image
Does it look like a sprite or a 3D model to you? In some of my recent spriting projects, I've practiced this style. I must admit, I got the motivation from watching trophies on Smash Bros spin, and told myself "I can sprite that". I've done Bealue and Kirby (Kirby is animated!), but Yoshi is probably my best (and most recent). No solid black or white colors were used.

Shivel Animation
Posted Image
From the moment I've drawn and animated it, it's become my favorite of all time. Through all my animations, both new and old, I've never quite matched the style or fluidness I've done for Shivel. (Shivel is a Bealupia character)

Smash Imitation

Well, with the exception of my other forum I go to, I've haaardly shown anyone SSBImitation. When I've played other members SSB's, I knew there was so much room for improvement. SSBI follows the gamestyle of the console version, and isn't as random paced as many parody games. I've put hard focus on spriting and movements, but not any on AI or maps. Currently, SSBI has 700+ images of the only playable character: Kirby.

Some comments!

Really! How long has it been since I've came about to Xsoft...? At least a year? Gosh, I've only remembered Xsoft by sifting through my email. Well, here I am, right? I only really expect to come around often to check messages.

To Aidiakapi or Lego... Gupocca.
Did something happen to the old forums again? This forum seems to be pretty new.

Welcome back Shyan! I really like your style, and I'm glad you're back—even if only to be semi-active. ;)

And yes, these forums are an upgrade to the earlier forums. Unfortunately, though, we have been a bit inactive as of lately. I'm going to start getting more active, though, and it looks like some of the other guys will also.

Your sprites look great, especially in SSBI. The kirby animations are very fluid and professional looking, as if nintendo had done it themselves (I'm also a huge SSB fan). Good to have you

Thank you! Do you really think so? Professional/Nintendo quality? ^_^

It's somewhat probable that I will open a thread for SSBI in Creations forum, but it can become redundant since I've already a busy topic elsewhere. This shouldn't be a problem, as I can easily post it in both locations. If you like SSBI and are curious about it's roots, try out the link to my other topic... I'll make a topic here soon.

Is there a reason that most Xsoft members may be inactive? I mean, have they made the community aware of certain complications requiring absence from Xsoft? I am aware how devastating the effects of inactivity can have on members of a forum; some people go away for a while, which gives other members less to reply to, and then they leave for a while, and people who return find people who aren't active, it's a waterfall effect.

Well, I know our purpose is to make quality games under the XSoft banner. When I was first introduced to Xsoft through a PM at GMC, we were looking for modestly experienced members in certain fields of game design. Through my many experiences in forums I've been to, people like to have a good time and have fun on the forum. They like to be welcome. We should still look for experienced people as team members, but we should also allow anyone open access to our community (everyone has a area where they can improve). People should be welcome to come to our more experienced members for assistance in all fields of game design, we can better each others skill and understanding of aspects, and who knows... they may even tell a friend about us.

But all that would probably belong somewhere in the Suggestions forum. Action is stronger then words, and I've faith we'll do our best.

Of course you can, if you want to! I see I'm already a team member, thank you. ^^

To Kubanen and Chaos Design>
Thank you. We'll see what happens in the future!

I've read around the site a little bit, and am curious about something. Between the Creations and Project Development forums, they are pretty alike... They both seem to contain projects and WIP's, but one is hidden from public/guest/non team-member view. Are we trying to keep certain projects secret while we have ones in the Creations forum open to the world? A lot of taken steps is understandable due to threats of piracy, but i wanted to make sure of the forum reason myself.

I thought I had submitted a post #6... but I guess there must have been some error or something.

The Creations and Project Development forums are alike, the main difference being that the Project Development forum contains many topics per project because we develop the projects there. The Creations forum is mostly a place where we can stick stuff that we currently want to show to the public.

I think that the primary reason that the Project Development forum is hidden is so that people don't come along and steal our sources.
