When I was checking through the XSoft forums, I noticed we may be missing a few and I thought since we are opening our doors to the public, we may want some additional forums to assist in specific areas. Listed below are the forums we currently have, and my personal opinions on them based on observation.
-- TEAM --
Project Development
A forum dedicated to the projects Xsoft is currently working on.
Creations
This appears to be identical to the Project Development forum, except that it's viewable to members and guests. It could be useful for when someone is looking for feedback on their most current WIP, or want to showcase their game for the world to see. I personally think the two forums should be seperated, one being Creations and another being Workin Progress, to avoid confusion.
Member Profiles Forum
It's the users way of saying hello to XSoft games, they are generally allowed to create a topic dedicated about themselves as a person, their skills (if applicable) as a game designer, and examples of their work. Anything to do with the user in person usually goes here.
Team Applications Forum
I don't even know what this forum is for, as it carries a very similiar concept to the Member Profiles forum. Should a member create a seperate topic about joining the team when they already have a thread describing themselves in another forum? They could just as easily put into their Profile thread that they're interested in joining the team, and we could maybe vote from there.
::::::::::
My suggestions for new forums are listed below. I don't think I've thought of every new addition, but introducing these forums would be, I believe, beneficial to the future XSoft community.
Art Forum/Music Forum
I'm not 100% sure if these would also fit into the Creations/WIP category, but users may be able to showcase their spriting style and music composition in these forums. When we look through the topics here, we can provide our inputs on their content, and give assistance when nescisarry.
Help Forum
Not to be confused with Suggestions forum. If the user has a question about the website or with any aspect of game design, it can be asked here and it should be answered by users educated in the field of question, topics here could be supplemented with [OPEN] or [SOLVED] tags.

New Subforums

The addition of the new subforums was well implemented, and I didn't find any standing out, I originally though the Help forum was going to be located in the team section, but it goes well with the Community heading as well. If it is possible, a topic might need to be made how the Help section works and what tags to use (if we use tags). Things that do need a fix are some broken images on both the Projects and News section on the Xsoft website (Aidiakapi pointed it out, I think in the Announcments forum).
zOdy was expressing his opinion about the addition of the newly added subforums, but had anxieties about it's necessity in responce to how active the usergroups will be. I agree that Xsoft could use a boost in activity, and it will eventually happen, but the website and forum should be in presentable order first. The following was pretty rude to say, I don't think zOdy did anything wrong with what he wrote (I didn't get a sense of negativity in zOdy's statement). Besides, how can we as a community operate together in a fashion capable of designing games if we don't get along first?
I believe the website (when the images are fixed) and forums are in good shape, enough to be shared with the public. I'll tell my friend Mean_Machine to pop by, and maybe I can convince him to register (He wants to make and program a complex shmup, but he doesn't know code apart from D&D functions). Maybe we can help him get there!

Well it's the way he said it, he said that it wasn't required, but that problem is that this kind of things are the things that actually are required. With saying that it is required he's only ruining the activity. That why I (perhaps too roughly) shushed him.

The new forums are a welcome new addition to the XSoft forums, but I don't know if they were required to add to the forum. We could have existed without them, but now that the new forums are in place, it benefits us all. Now people can ask us questions about game design, or showcase their works in it's own subforum!
Of course, we'll need a good userbase to communicate with (I'd like to see their projects and help work with them!). What we've now is a good start, but it will become much better in the future (I really hope). ^^
